Articles: Beach Wedding!

Monday, February 25, 2008 - 10:57 PM, (728 Reads)

The day was fine and warm after a night of 50 knot winds. Brighton Beach had the white sand and blue seas of the Whangaparoa! Wedding was held in a sunny glade sheltered from the beach just over the small hill and had a small bush walk where Kirstin and Lachlan, Kelsie walked down to the rest of the gathering.....

Ceremony was delightful with Joel giving away the bride, Karl reading a lovely verse followed by a moving reading from our mother of the bride, Glenda. (Photo .... family - great events... "The Ceremony")

... a walk down the road led us all to...... The Brighton Hall called Robertson Hall. Inside it was beautifully decorated. This will be seen on the movie taken which may be able to be shared. Kirstin and Cadel had put little verses beautifully wrapped in silver ribbon on each table. one read:

"The heights by great men reached and kept were not obtained by sudden flight, but they, while their companions slept, were toiling upward in the night." "Thank you for celebrating with us on our special Day - 23 February, 2008, Cadel & Kirstin"

All the verses were different and we hope that the guests all appreciated the wisdom.
Children danced around, adults talked getting to know each other (Cadel's relatives) and the sun shone!

On the other hand what went on a couple of nights before..... Glenda & Sid were staying at Glen Foulis before going on - and talk about goings on!

There must have been some interesting talk going on in bananaland!
