Articles: The South Island Connection

Wednesday, August 23, 2006 - 08:30 AM, (1106 Reads)

The first photo here, is the next stop from home - Ocean Beach, Dunedin.  It was raining but the beach still stood out from Kirstin & Cadel's home with the white rolling waves. Lachlan & Aska had a bashing competition with their trucks but neither seemed worried. It was cosy in their lounge and we were reluctant to set forward into the mist and rain of the Otago coast.

Further down and round the bottom end, we happily knocked on Tracy & Anton's door. Aimee was not too happy but was taken aback with Aska's dominance on her little trike. Her eyes were wide! A warm coffee later and we were onwards to Invercargill where we visited Hayes and Son where the WFI bike was..... I wonder if Aska will remember. He certainly remembered a lot of things that a three year old would not.

Te Anau was cold and windy and we played casino games in warm motel there and Aska did a jigsaw of great fame - TRAINS- (Corin and Jude loved the same trains).

At one time we caught up with Joy & David and this photo was taken in a Christchurch motel that adequately served our family purposes (Joy had to sleep in the lounge and was woken by numerous computers all saying the time and beeping for some reason or another!)
